Project 01: App Configurable Hardware
In just the past few years, the popularity of DIY embedded system kits such as those sold under the Arduino brand has increased significantly. With the cost barrier for such kits now well under $100, creating interesting microcontroller-based hardware projects is now easier than ever. However, the technical barrier to creating such projects remains high, since a significant amount of electronics and programming knowledge is still needed. The objective of this project is to break down this knowledge barrier by creating a microcontroller-based software architecture as a layer of abstraction, allowing anyone to create embedded systems for common household tasks using a beginner-friendly UI without writing a single line of code.
